Lost Generation - not!

For those of us who jump to conclusions about the younger generation not caring about the world, I like the message of this video...

I've been wanting to add this poem for a while...I remember it making an impression on me as a young girl and it has inspired so many people over the years.

One night I had a dream--
I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord
and across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints,
one belonged to me and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that many times along the path of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest
and saddest times in my life.
This really bothered me and I questioned the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you would walk with me all the way,
but I have noticed that during
the most troublesome times in my life
there is only one set of footprints.
"I don't understand why in times when I needed you most,
you should leave me."
The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child,
I love you and I would never, never leave you
during your times of trial and suffering.
"When you saw only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

Here I Am Lord

My father sent me this video which has reflections set to music of song "Here I Am Lord". I thought that it was worth sharing...

I Can Only Imagine

If I'm posting my favourite songs on here, this one would have to be included! MercyMe definitely inspires with their beautiful song I Can Only Imagine.

If you woke up this morning
with more health than illness,
you are more blessed
than the million who won’t survive the week.

If you have never experienced
the danger of battle,
the loneliness of imprisonment,
the agony of torture or
the pangs of starvation,
you are ahead of 20 million people
around the world.

If you attend a church meeting
without fear of harassment,
arrest, torture, or death,
you are more blessed than almost
three billion people in the world.

If you have food in your refrigerator,
clothes on your back, a roof over
your head and a place to sleep,
you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank,
in your wallet, and spare change
in a dish someplace, you are among
the top 8% of the world’s wealthy

If your parents are still married and alive,
you are very rare.

If you hold up your head with a smile
on your face and are truly thankful,
you are blessed because the majority can,
but most do not.

If you can hold someone’s hand, hug them
or even touch them on the shoulder,
you are blessed because you can
offer God’s healing touch.

If you can read this message,
you are more blessed than over
two billion people in the world
that cannot read anything at all.

You are so blessed in ways
you may never even know.

Awesome video of aquarium

I LOVE this video! It feels like watching an underwater ballet! I'm fascinated by the whale sharks, the manta rays and all the fish of various sizes swimming together. I also can't keep my eyes off the scuba divers along the bottom of the aquarium as the sharks swim past them without a care!

Best if watched in full screen!

I Cannot Pray the "Our Father"

I cannot say Our if my religion has no room for others and their needs.

I cannot say Father if I do not demonstrate this relationship in my daily life.

I cannot say who art in Heaven if all my interests and pursuits are in earthly things.

I cannot say hallowed be thy name if I, who am called by his name am not holy.

I cannot say thy Kingdom come if I am unwilling to give up my own sovereignty and accept the righteous reign of God.

I cannot say thy will be done if I am unwilling or resentful of having it in my life.

I cannot say on Earth as it is in Heaven unless I am truly ready to give myself to his service here and now.

I cannot say give us this day our daily bread without expending honest effort for it or by ignoring the genuine needs of my fellow men.

I cannot say forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us if I continue to harbor a grudge against anyone.

I cannot say lead us not into temptation if I deliberately choose to remain in a situation where I am likely to be tempted.

I cannot say deliver us from evil if I am not prepared to fight in the spiritual realm with the weapon of prayer.

I cannot say Thine is the kingdom if I do not give the King the disciplined obedience of a loyal subject.

I cannot say Thine is the power if I fear what my neighbors do or say to me.

I cannot say Thine is the glory if I am seeking my own glory first.

I cannot say forever if I am anxious about each day's events.

I cannot say amen unless I honestly say "Cost what it may, this is my prayer."

Divine Mercy

On February 22, 1931, Jesus appeared to St. Faustina Kowalska, bringing a wonderful message of Mercy for all mankind. Saint Faustina wrote in her diary:

"In the evening, when I was in my cell, I became aware of the Lord Jesus clothed in a white garment. One hand was raised in blessing, the other was touching the garment at the breast. From the opening of the garment at the breast there came forth two large rays, one red and the other pale. In silence I gazed intently at the Lord; my soul was overwhelmed with fear, but also with great joy. After a while Jesus said to me, 'paint an image according to the pattern you see, with the inscription: Jesus, I trust in You.'"

Some time later, Our Lord again spoke to her:

"The pale ray stands for the Water which makes souls righteous; the red ray stands for the Blood which is the life of souls. These two rays issued forth from the depths of My most tender Mercy at that time when My agonizing Heart was opened by a lance on the Cross....Fortunate is the one who will dwell in their shelter, for the just hand of God shall not lay hold of him."

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion,
have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Agnus Dei - Michael W. Smith

Powerful song!

Why - by Michael Card

Why did it have to be a friend
Who chose to betray the Lord
Why did he use a kiss to show them
That's not what a kiss is for
Only a friend can betray a friend
A stranger has nothing to gain
And only a friend comes close enough
To ever cause so much pain

And why did there have to be a thorny
Crown pressed upon His head
It should have been a royal one
Made of jewels and gold instead
It had to be a crown of thorns
For in this life that we live
For all who seek to love a thorn
Is all the world has to give

And why did there have to be
A heavy cross He was made to bear
And why did they nail His feet and hands
His love would have held Him there
It was a cross for on a cross
A thief was supposed to pay
And Jesus had come into the world
To steal every heart away
Yes, Jesus had come into the world
To steal every heart away
